"In Gilda we feel we have signed one of the greatest box office attractions the theater has developed in recent years," Jesse L. Lasky declares, through his faithful press agent "Her popularity is phenomenal, and the reason for it is her amazing personality. None of this will be lost on the screen. We have tested her thoroughly and the same magnetism which has attracted thousands of people all over the country will be manifest in her pictures."
Well, Gilda certainly ought to be a motion picture star.
Gilda was born in Poland and came to this country, as a refugee in the steerage at the age of seven.
