Full Text

The King has not been out of doors since his removal to Paris. He has not even amused himself in his favorite exercise of walking, though the gardens of the Tuilleries hold out such a charming invitation. The terrors of a conspiracy, said to be formed in Paris, lessen daily, though the Parisians continue in the firm opinion that it was on the point to be carried into execution. The reports on this subject have been greatly exaggerated, such as clothing and arms having been found concealed for 15,000 men, &c. not a tittle of which has any truth. The city, however, has taken every precaution, in the same manner as if it was threatened, by mounting double and treble guards in those quarters of the town most suspected. The gates were shut for several days during the search, and it is only two days since people were suffered to pass in and out of the city without molestation or enquiry. The National Cockade is in future to be worn by all the troops in the kingdom without distinction, and it is to be the substitute for the white one. The servants of Paris have resolved to raise for the public use, the sum of one million of livres, or about forty thousand guineas.

City mounted extra guards in suspected areas, shut gates for days during searches, and recently allowed free passage. National cockade will be worn by all kingdom troops, replacing the white one. Paris servants plan to raise one million livres for public use.
