Event Details
One result of Lord Carnarvon's peaceful progress through Ireland has been an enormous influx of British tourists into that country. Fifteen hundred sight-seers from England, Scotland and Wales landed at Dublin Tuesday. The prevalence of cholera on the continent has doubtless contributed to this result, but the discovery that the "Wild Irishman" is by no means so wild as he has been described has been the chief factor in determining tourists in favor of the romantic scenery and superb salmon-fishing of the Irish lakes and streams. This rush of visitors brings many thousands of pounds into Ireland.
