Full Text
Is it allowable to play at any game tolerated by our laws for small sums only as an amusement?
What is the true standard whereby we are to judge and determine between gaming and amusement? Or should we not desist altogether from playing, lest a contrariety of opinions and dissensions amongst the people may be introduced?
Would a ball, tending to an innocent and pleasing intercourse between the two sexes in any neighbourhood, calculated evidently upon a frugal plan, be deemed extravagance, or fall under the description of dissipation?
