Green County Saved From Year's Highway Holiday With 1 Vote

MONROE, Wis.—By one vote Green county escaped a one-year holiday in highway improvement, when the board of supervisors Friday voted on a motion to take a recess in spending more of the $3,000,000 bond issue which won at the polls in 1919. Action immediately following provides for a sale of $500,000 in bonds for 1924 intended to improve 25 miles of roads, 17 miles of which will be concrete and the remainder gravel. This program includes completion of the 30-mile stretch of concrete on Highway 42 from Illinois to the Dane county line, 25 miles of which is already laid.
