Youngster is Murdered on Way to Store

Shot through the chest Willie Tate 14 of 351 Pittman place, was killed early Thursday evening in Pittman Alley near John Henrique.

According to the lad's mother, Mrs. Rosa Tate, he had sent the boy to the store about eight o'clock when she was informed, a few moments later, that her son had been killed.

The body, Officers A. J. Coppen and T. R. Glover reported, was discovered on Hilliard Street across from the city prison stockade and information was given to them that someone carried the boy's body out of an alley but they were unable to gain the identity of the party to obtain the names of any witnesses.

Remains of the murdered boy were taken to Hanley company where funeral arrangements are being completed.
