SAGAMORES AND SACHEMS
HOLD IMPORTANT SESSION

The district meeting of the Improved
Order of Red Men and the
degree of Pocahontas, which
was held in Palatka Thursday evening
and entertained by the local organizations,
proved very interesting to
the members of the order, and visitors
were present from Jacksonville,
St. Augustine, Orlando and Tampa.

The extensive program which had
been prepared was well carried out.
Among the speakers was the superintendent
of public instruction from
St. Johns county, D. D. Corbett, who
stands high in the order. During his
remarks he made a special plea with
all visitors to strongly endorse the
amendment pertaining to the special
school districts and gave an extensive
and instructive lecture regarding
the necessity for its adoption.

Following the business and social
program the local organization entertained
the many visitors at a
pleasing luncheon. The next session
of the order for this district will be
held in Jacksonville.
