Lucy Laney 13-6
By ROBERT PRICE

Monroe played host to Lucy Laney Friday September 14th, at Monroe High Stadium; in a game which Laney came out Victorious 13-6.

A sustained rally fell short as time denied Monroe in their desperation bid. Arthur Stephens who had taken a aerial from Emory Harris for Monroe first tally, caught four out of five passes in the final minutes of the quarter to spearhead Monroe's vain attack. James Wells who threw for one touchdown that caught Monroe's defense completely bewildered, plunged from four yards out for second T. D. to engineer Laney's attack.

Outstanding players on defense were Wallace Cannon, Henry Adams, Earl Ingram, Bennie Walker, Bobby Holloway, and Curtis McDowell.

Standouts on offense were of course Arthur Stephens, John "Kit" White, Charlie Howard and Emory Harris.

The Monroe's high marching Eighty fascinated the enthusiastic crowd with their timely marching rhythmically music. The enthusiastic crowd is still raving about, this was the best planned exhibited halftime show in Monroe's History.

The rugged Tornadoes hit the road today to take on Lincoln High of Tallahassee.
