THINGS DOING THESE DAYS.
The capitalist governors from all over the nation met at Louisville, Ky., to talk matters over. Among other things they approved of "insurgent legislation." A press dispatch says "Many of the expressions of the governors concentrated upon the subject of GREATER POWER FOR THE PEOPLE."
One governor said, "You can't give the people too much power for me."
Oh, no! You don't lose your vote when you cast it for Socialism. It makes the rulers take notice. Of course they will try to fix up some sort of a mess to satisfy the people, but it won't work. Nothing but industrial freedom will satisfy the masses—and that is the one thing the masters cannot give and hold their jobs.
Another indication that the masters are getting restless is the announcement by the United States Steel corporation to begin a system of old age pensions for its employees after January 1.
Ain't that Socialism for you? And if Carnegie can grant old age pensions to his worn out slaves, why can't Uncle Samuel?
