Full Text

Extract of a letter From a Gentleman in Norfolk, dated Sept. 24.

As to the harvest, last week as I passed through the woodlands of Essex and High Suffolk there were several fields of wheat, barley, &c. uncut (though dead ripe) for want of labourers, otherwise it might have been all housed, &c. a fortnight ago; the crops in general are very good; particularly beans, which in common are 5 or 6 feet high, and heavily laden with pods. Next week will get all in. The clover is a fine crop, and very well bolted or headed. Fowls, turkeys, geese, and pigs, in very great plenty.
