PHILADELPHIA, September 16.

A Prize Snow, retaken, bound to Carolina from Liverpool, is in the River. She was taken by the Stanwyx Privateer of this Port, and two Privateers of New-York, it is said. What her Lading consists of not known.

Since our last an Express arrived here from Northampton with Advice, that two Indians had come to Fort Allen from Diahooga, and informed, that a little above that Place they had seen 5 Frenchmen, and 5 French Indians, who said they expected to be join'd by 20 Indians more; that they designed to come down to the Minisinks a Scalping: take a View of our Forts, and endeavour to get some Prisoners, in order to be informed of the Strength of the Country; then go away to Fort Johnson, and so return home with their Intelligence to the French General. And on Friday Morning last, one James Tidd was killed and scalped in the Minisinks by some Indians, and a Soldier shot in the Back, but likely to do well.

From Paxton we have Advice, that two Men (James Watson, and James Mullen) went out about some Plantation Business, on the first Instant; and that on the Saturday following Watson was found scalped; the other supposed to be carried off, not being heard of since.

On Tuesday last the second Battalion of the Royal Americans passed by here, on their Way to Carlisle; the Colonel of the Battalion, Mr. Deau, died at New Brunswick.
