Full Text

It is with great satisfaction, we are enabled to state, that the reports of to-day respecting the sickness in the city are highly favorable.

A meeting of the Board of Health was held this morning, and after a mature consideration of the subject, it was clearly that sufficient ground did not exist to demand any public notice of it from their.

By private accounts we learn, that a considerable mortality prevails, in New-York, where, as well as with us, much alarm has arisen. In Baltimore also the season has lately been sickly—but no idea prevails of any contagious disorder existing there. On the whole, it may be hoped, that the present alarms have no other foundation than the extra number of deaths, by no means uncommon at this season.
