Arrived, Saturday evening, the brig Maria, Capt. Barnard, from Port Liberty, formerly called Point-Petre, Guadaloupe, which place he left the 10th Feb. and brings the account of the fleet arriving there from France, one 74 gun ship, two frigates, one sloop of war, two corvettes and 8 transports, with 4000 troops on board; one of the transports was taken off Desirade, by the Bellona, 74 gun-ship.
Before Capt. Barnard sailed, the Capt. of the French ship, that fought the Blanch, had returned on parole: THE BLANCHE HAD STRUCK BEFORE THE BELLONA CAME IN SIGHT.

Capt. Barnard was boarded by the Bellona, an English 74 gun ship, and was politely treated. The Capt. of the Bellona shewed Capt. B. a proclamation from the Governor of Martinico to bring into port all neutral vessels bound to a French port.
Capt. B. spoke on his passage the ship Cumberland of Portland, from Norfolk, in lat. 21. 40, long. 65, 30, eleven days out, bound to Jamaica. Also, the schr. Sally, from Water Million quay, North-Carolina, John Eventon, master, 100 miles East from Cape Hatteras, short of water; Capt. B. supplied him.
