City July 18
Friday, July 18, has been set as the date for the arrival of the Fresh Air Children this year, it was announced today by the committee chairman, the Rev. Percy F. Smith.
Putnam has been one of the friendly towns that has entertained these underprivileged children from New York tenements.
Already several requests have been made to the committee for children again this year. The usual stay for the children is two weeks but in several cases hosts have asked for the youngsters for a month's stay or for all summer. Several of the hosts have requested the same children that they entertained last year, while others are asking for new children.
Invitations for children are to be in the hands of the committee not later than Sunday of this week, so that hosts may have the children that they request.
The committee members are: Mrs. Archibald MacDonald, vice-chairman, Mrs. B. M. Tuber, Mrs. Arthur Dufault, Mr. John A. Langford, Fr. Omer Mandler, Mrs. Alexander Maitland, Rev. Helge Johnson, Mrs. Bert J. Johnson, Msgr. John C. Mathieu, Mrs. Anthony Sulkowski, Mr. Henry Dunleavy and Mrs. Willis Covell.
