Brunswick—high bragging.—The Enquirer has been assured that Mr. Shell will certainly be beaten in the county of Brunswick! The probability is, that both Shell and Wilkes will be elected. But, if Turnbull should be elected, is he for Van? If he be not, the interest of the Enquirer in his fortunes, will cease and determine.

The Albany party is bragging high. To hear them, one would think the poor whigs would be driven from the field, and their camp stormed. Yet do they not fear the result. They know they are sustaining the cause, the principle, the interest, and honor of Virginia and the South, and knowing this, they will not fear, though power and its satraps strain every nerve, and though experienced demagogism exhausts humbug and delusion. They know their opponents are sustaining in the person of the President's Heir, Martin Van Buren, principles ever repudiated by Virginia, and principles which they themselves dare not avow. They cannot believe Virginia changed from what Virginia was; and believing this, they have a holy confidence not only in their cause, but in its triumphant success.—Rich. Whig.
