We observe a false and scandalous charge against Federal Editors, beginning to circulate in the democratic prints. It is, that these Editors have manifested no feeling of admiration in detailing the exploits of our gallant Tars in their operations against Tripoli. This article first appeared in the O'Dricol paper of Worcester, and in a week or two after, when it was supposed the eulogiums pronounced by the federal papers of Philadelphia were partly forgotten, echoed from the Aurora, and now has made its appearance in the paltry Newark Centinel. The federal papers have spoken in the highest terms of our Navy—the officers and crews of which have so often merited the praise of all. The Navy is a Federal Navy—it was built by federal hands; its officers and men were trained in the school of Washington and Adams, and as heretofore, we trust it ever will hereafter, prove itself worthy of such founders. It has no affinity to your dry-dock projectors; it owes nothing to your O'Dricol aegis, your Calcutta pole-men, and such 'creeping things' as a Newark Centinel!
