Extract of a letter to the Raleigh Register, dated Natchitoches, La. September 22.

We are in possession of no recent intelligence of any importance from Texas. Gen. Houston has issued an Order for the meeting of Congress: at which time, it is said, he intends resigning the Presidency and accepting the command of the Army. All is at present quiet.—The Texans have made full crops of Corn—their attention was not directed to Cotton, the present season. Generals Montezuma and Bustamente are too well occupied in contending for the supreme command in Mexico, to think of invading Texas. Rumors say, that if Houston is appointed Commander in Chief he will push his fortunes, even to the City of Mexico.
