Japs Communists, Sen Tenney Says

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20.—(UP)—State Sen. Jack Tenney, D., today charged communist pressure groups had successfully recruited California Japanese before Pearl Harbor and are now working for return of aliens to the Pacific coast.

"Beware of these pressure groups," Tenney told a senate investigating committee. "Many of them are communist front organizations who are raising a cry of race discrimination merely to cloud the issue."

The Senator said many Japs, aside from having dual citizenship as Americans and Japanese, were also members of the Comintern.
