Thrown from their car as it turned completely over on Eighth street at the south city limits yesterday afternoon, Mrs. I. Thanner and her small son, Eugene, escaped serious injury, although the boy received severe cuts which called for treatment by a physician.
The automobile driven by Mrs. Thanner turned over after being struck on the left side by a car driven by Andrew Shannon of Seeley. Shannon was driving west on the city limits road, and Mrs. Thanner was driving south on Eighth street.
Shannon's car skidded 18 feet before striking the other, according to a report at the sheriff's office.
Bill Madlem and Herbert Lee were witnesses of the accident.
The Thanner car, after overturning, came to rest in a ditch beside the road.
Eugene Thanner was taken to the hospital for treatment. After a doctor examined his cuts he was taken home. Mrs. Thanner suffered only shock.
Shannon received minor cuts.
I. Thanner today appeared before Judge I. Mayfield to sign a complaint charging reckless driving against Andrew Shannon, placing the blame for the accident on Shannon.
