Capt. Raymond, of the sloop Lion, arrived there yesterday, in 23 days from St. Croix informs us, that on the 4th June he was lying at St. Thomas's when the British frigate Alarm arrived there, and landed a number of French prisoners; the officers of the frigate informed Capt. Raymond, that they were part of the crew of the French armed ship Liberty, mounting 22 guns; that they had fell in with her in the night of the 30th May, in Ail Rock passage, to the leeward of St. Thomas's, when the Liberty fired a broadside into the Alarm, which was immediately returned: in a few minutes after the Liberty sunk. The most of the crew were saved.
