Ships Wrecked In Valparaiso Gale

VALPARAISO, Chile, June 3.—The hardest gale experienced this season has been blowing in this section for several days. The damage to shipping property has been the worst in years. The shores of the harbor are strewn with wrecks of large and small craft.

The steamer Arequipa was driven ashore and sixty-three of the passengers and crew are missing. The ship Fayledale, with a complement of eight men, and the bark Chivilingo are among the vessels lost. Two men of the Chivilingo were drowned.
