Phoenix—Tom C. Foster, state mine inspector, who received the highest majority in the November 2 elections of any candidate on the ticket, issued a statement of thanks to the voters of Arizona for their support in returning him to office and especially for the remarkable majority the voters established for him.
With a vote of 45,128, Mr. Foster eclipsed the vote of 23,937 received by R. L. Stallings, Republican, by a majority of 21,191. One other opposed candidate on the Democratic ticket received a larger vote than Mr. Foster, but the mine inspector majority beat the nearest opposed majority by 191 ballots. Numerous Democratic party leaders called Mr. Foster after the official returns were announced to congratulate him for his record majority and for the immense strength he brought to the entire Democratic ticket. In his message of thanks to the voters, Mr. Foster said,
"On the face of the official canvass, I take this opportunity to thank the voters of Arizona for the wonderful vote I received in the recent election.
"In the future, as in the past, my representatives and myself will be untiring in our efforts to co-operate with the miners and the companies of Arizona for better conditions and of the same harmony, that has existed during my administration."
