After remaining dormant for several years, the Community Little Theater is now being revived with the first organizational meeting scheduled for this Monday, January 7, at 8:30 p.m. sharp in the social-dining room in the basement of the Center School. Residents of all ages interested in the theater are invited to attend.

The impetus for reorganizing the little theater group came when Sam Ackerman, a newcomer to Greenbelt who was formerly assistant director with the Long Island Barter Theater, consented to manage the group. Ackerman previously organized a little theater group in Stamford, Conn., known as the Towne Masquers and produced "Our Town" and "Ah, Wilderness" with that group. He also spent four years with the Cornell Drama Group.

The Community Little Theater hopes to attract all residents of Greenbelt and neighboring communities who are interested in all phases of theater work—costumes, scenery design, set construction, makeup, props, and lighting as well as acting and directing. Teenagers and college students as well as adults will be encouraged to join the group. The Little Theater will provide its participants with a chance to gain experience and to express themselves in dramatic work as well as produce plays for the community.

The meeting on Monday will elect a play reading committee and an executive committee. Featured will be a reading of a scene from the well-known Broadway comedy "The Moon is Blue." Play readings will be a feature of future meetings of the group, which plans to meet twice a month.

A major production will be planned as soon as the Community Little Theater is fully organized. The group hopes to put on two or three productions each year. More information may be obtained by phoning Mrs. Rose Pratt at GR 4-9480.
