George Williams was a very much frightened darkey yesterday evening, when, in walking along the Cary Street road, he was fired upon by some one whom he did not see.

Five shots sped in his direction. The first got him in the hand, the second grazed his arm, the other three missed him altogether. He was going too fast.

He ran all the way to his home, No. 9 South Twenty-second street, and sent for the ambulance. Dr. Hulcher responded. He fixed up both wounds, and tried to learn the name of the person who fired the shots, but without success. George professed not to know.
