HANDSOME NEW SCHOOL BUILDING NOW COMPLETE
AND READY FOR OCCUPANCY FOR THE FALL TERM

MARIETTA'S NEW HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING

The new school building has been completed and the keys turned over to the Board of Education. It was built according to the plans of the architect, Mr. J. R. MacEachern, of Atlanta, and is a model of convenience, elegance and economy of space. The lighting is almost perfect there being no dark corners or cloak rooms anywhere in the building.

Mr. A. J. Eaves, the contractor, deserves much credit for the masterly way in which he has executed his plans. His work has been thorough, sound and honest. He has done all that was specified and more. He and the skilled workmen under him have taken a general pride in the construction of this building designed to shelter many generations of children.

In a recent inspection of the work by the Board of Education, nothing was found to criticise, but everything to commend. This inspection included the plumbing by Mr. W. H. Roueché and the heating by the Atlanta Steam Heating Co.

The Board of Education should have the thanks of the people for the intelligent and economical manner in which they have administered the bond money. The city gave them $20,000 with which to build a school house worth $25,000.

The upper story consisting of four recitation rooms, a chemical laboratory, and a small auditorium or assembly room, will be devoted to the High School. On the first floor there are six recitation rooms in which will be placed six elementary grades beginning with first grade.

The basement and its contents are well lighted, modern, sanitary. For lack of space no attempt is made to give a description of the building. It will be more satisfactory for those interested to see for themselves. The office of the Board of Education has been moved there and during this week and next the building will be open to visitors.
