Call Local 24 Members to Big Rally
In order to lay before the membership of Millinery Local 24 the real reasons for the decision of the right wing general executive board of the International Cloth Hat, Cap and Millinery Workers' Union, to force a fake amalgamation scheme upon the members of Millinery Hand Workers Local 43, and also to expose all the other union-wrecking activities of the Zaritsky gang, a mass meeting is being called by the rank and file committee of local 24. The meeting will be held tomorrow evening immediately after work in Bryant Hall, Sixth Ave. and 42nd St.
In a circular which the committee intends to distribute throughout the market the committee calls upon the workers to attend the meeting and thereby take the first step toward halting the recently instituted Zaritsky policy of removing from positions of leadership all those who clash with his policy of surrender to the employers.
The membership of local 24 are appealed to stop "the scandalous conduct of the members of their own executive board who are escorting scabs to take the places of the local 43 members out on strike."
The Zaritsky edict which declares local 43 non-existent and instructs the members of this organization to join local 24, which his clique controls, has met with the stiffest opposition from the members. They have called numerous strikes against employers attempting to help Zaritsky. Many of them were won, and this despite the intense police terror that holds sway in the military district here.
