MR. FENNO,
I must beg you to correct a mistake committed in your paper of Saturday, said to be an assertion of mine, as I never said that Mr. Phillips told me he was going to bring up one of his lodgers; but all that I remember that passed between Mr. Phillips and me was on the 10th day of July, when Mr. Phillips got some liquors from me, and said he was going down to the ship Deborah, that there were some of his lodgers on board. I asked Mr. Phillips if he thought he would be allowed to go on board, he said that if he was not, he would try to send the liquors to the poor fellows

DAVID SPARKS.
