FATALLY WOUNDS WIFE
E. N. Killingsworth, Colored Manager of Farm. Suffers Fracture of Thigh in Disarming Shooter.
Major Johnson, negro, became "sore" at his wife yesterday and fired a charge of shot into her back which may prove fatal. E. N. Killingsworth, colored manager of the farm near Phoenix, Lincoln county, where the shooting occurred, went in to aid other negroes in disarming Johnson, and the gun was again discharged, this time accidentally. The charge broke Killingsworth's left thigh. Johnson escaped.
The wounded woman and man were brought here in the Robinson ambulance and taken to the Davis hospital where they were treated by Dr. O. G. Blackwell. The farm where the trouble occurred is owned by Millie Sneed, a negress.
