Full Text

SENT TO STOCKTON.—Sheriff Fitch left here Tuesday morning, having in charge a woman pronounced insane by the "powers that be," and deemed a fit subject for the Insane Asylum at Stockton, whither he has taken her. She came a short time since to Elko from Fort Halleck, where too frequent libations of tangleleg had made her an unworthy guest at the fort, and while stopping at the Elko House she indulged in a dose of corrosive sublimate, which failed to "phase" her, since when, until she was ordered below, she was an inmate of the County Hospital.—[Elko Independent.
