Washington, April 4.—A decision was rendered by the supreme court of the United States to-day in the mormon case of John Miles vs. the United States, brought here by appeal from the supreme court of Utah. Miles was indicted by the third district court at Salt Lake City. A trial was had and the jury rendered a verdict of guilty. Miles thereupon appealed to the supreme court of the territory, where the judgment of the district court was affirmed. He thereupon appealed to this court, which reversed the decision of the supreme court of Utah, and granted a new trial. Justice Woods delivered the opinion.
