On Wednesday morning, 16th inst. at about half past six o'clock, the Paper Mill owned and occupied by Messrs. Goss and Reed, of Montpelier, Vt. situated on the Berlin side of Onion River, opposite our village, was discovered to be on fire. Mr. Reed and his workmen had been at work in the mill and had left it for breakfast about five minutes before the fire was discovered. It had made such progress that there were no hopes of saving the building. They, however, succeeded in saving their notes and accounts, a small part of the paper and some other articles. The property consumed is estimated at between three and four thousand dollars, on which there was an insurance of two thousand dollars.
