The
Death of Moses
By
EMMA HUNTER

There was none like unto Moses
A mystery shrouds his death,
It was upon Mt. Nebo's peak
That he breathed his latest breath.

No one has ever found his grave
"Twas near that lonely height
Where he stood and viewed the promised land
Gazing with undimmed sight.

In obedience to God's summon
He went to resign his life
God wanted him to die alone
And leave this world of strife.

The people with whom his interest
And life had so long been tied
Spent thirty days in mourning
When Moses, their leader, died.

"Twas a glorious thing for Moses
To view the "promised land,"
We, too, shall view and enter in
If we keep our God's command.
