AND IN WITH THE
NEW TONIGHT!
The New Year's Celebration in Nome is centered this year, as in the past, around the get-together dance on New Year's Eve, tonight. when friends meet friends and together usher the old year out, and the New Year in, to the tune of an exciting dance and party.
The dance this year takes place at the Pioneer Hall and is open to whites only. The admission is $1.00 for adults. The time is 9:30 P. M. In the arranging of the details of entertainment tonight, every effort has been made to make the dance as enjoyable as possible and provide an opportunity for the merry-makers to see the old out and the new in.
Noise-makers, serpentine, favors, balloons, and etc. have been provided and as the New Year draws near. it is certain that the large crowd will catch the engaging spirit and enter into the fun of it, in that great big way so famous in Nome.
Invitations are broadcast to individuals and parties to meet at the 'Pioneer Hall and to the tune of Auld Lang Syne greet each other on the New Year. Don't miss it ! Is the slogan heard everywhere in town today.
Your friends will be there and all may join in and have the time of their lives.
Exceptionally fine dance music is being provided by a four piece orchestra including Mrs. Neva Whaley, Glen Aldrich, Alvin Bahlke and Russell Maynard. They have promised music for the young, the old, and those who think they are sometimes young, and sometimes old. New Year's Eve should see everyone present.
Floor Managers, those to keep the fun and merriment at its height during the evening, will work in connection with Mr. Frank Whaley, pilot for the Nome Airways, who is an accomplished entertainer. Other members of the committee have been selected and they should have some interesting things to propose at the dance tonight.
Also, not to be forgotten, is the practice of calling from house to house New Year's Eve and New Year's morning. On a whole, it is expected, from the many things heard during the past few days, that the New Year's celebration this year will indeed be a lively one.
