Full Text

A Den of Counterfeiters.—The Police of Covington for some time past had been narrowly observing the movements of certain suspicious characters, and night before last entered the house of one of them named Wheeler, of whose guilt they had become satisfied, and commenced a search. In a drawer they found $800 of well executed counterfeit notes. Wheeler protested that he was innocent until this discovery was made, and then in an instant jumped head foremost through a window, and in spite of the best efforts of the officers, made good his escape. An associate of the rascal was arrested and lodged in jail.—[Cin. Com.
