Chicago, July 29.- Judge Blodgett to-
day decided the suit of Henry DuPont et
al. against the estate of the late Samuel J.
Tilden. The complainant is the well-
known powder manufacturer of Wilming-
ton, Del., and his claim is for $70,000 worth
of powder and supplies furnished to the
defunct Northern Illinois Coal and Iron
Co., in which James F. Joy, William B.
Ogden, George L. Dunlap, Perry H.
Smith, Bernard S. Caulfield and ex-Gov-
ernor Tilden were stockholders. Tilden's
executors pleaded that they had received
letters testamentary only from the New
York court, and therefore no court,
whether federal or State, could maintain
jurisdiction over them. Judge Blodgett
rendered his decision sustaining the plea
and dismissing the suit for want of juris-
diction.
