STANLEY THOMPSON LEAVES
FOR HARVARD UNIV.

Stanley Thompson departed for
Harvard University where he will
enroll in geology
classes.

Mrs. Thompson will leave soon
for Seldovia where she will pick
up her son Eric, who has been va-
cationing with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. J.
W. Thompson,
formerly superintendent
and
a
teacher of Nome School. She plans
to
enter
Radcliffe
College
near
Harvard next year.

Among the
interesting
things
she saw
while in the Noatak this
summer
were pack
dogs
which
the natives use. Each dog carries
on its back a small pack of sup-
plies and equipment necessary for
the native
summer
camp.
The
mother
dog carried her pups in
this fashion. She stated that there
were many wild sheep in this area
on the slopes of the hills.
