SAM B. PINDER HAS NO OPPONENT IN CITY ELECTION
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR IS MADE TODAY: NOT OPPOSED FOR TWENTY YEARS
Sam B. Pinder, city tax assessor-collector announces for re-election to the office without opposition, the office which he has held since 1933 without anyone announcing against him.
Mr. Pinder was appointed to the office upon the death of William A. Carey in 1927. He continued in the position until the legislature of 1931 combined the office of assessor and collector.
He then retired from service to again become a candidate in 1933 in which year he was elected to the office of assessor-collector.
He has held the position up to the present time and has never had an opponent.
Mr. Pinder said to The Citizen this morning that "I have been in public office for the past 20 years and during that time have never been opposed".
