NEW-YORK, DEC. 3, 1807.

From Washington, Nov. 27.

"Some late debates of our "Solomons in Council" have demonstrated how little information on political affairs some of the most noisy have. I blush for the honor of my country, when I know that foreigners frequently hear these Legislators deal out for information and argument, those scraps they have picked up from newspapers ; and which a horn-book school-boy's judgment would have shewn to have been false and contradictory.—While men of real talents, and information of both parties, sit mute, and appear not only unwilling to check the delusion, but to be pleased with the deluders and deluded. One of these Legislators lately affirmed, that the British were instigating the Indians against us, on our frontiers ; and this too after the falshood of the report had been acknowledged, in the very papers which first gave circulation to it. Yet this same impartial Lawgiver forgot to say a word on an actual Indian War, waged on us by the Sioux savages, on our "South-Western" borders; though the slaughter of several of our countrymen had been officially announced; and strong suspicions entertained that the Indians were instigated by the Spaniards—But the Dons are the good friends and allies of Bonaparte, and of course, according to some men's creed, can do no wrong. It is such bold faced partiality and falshoods which have driven our Country to its present situation ; and a remedy will not be applied until the People are made to feel, as well as see, the iniquity of their blind guides."
