Fair Employment Practice Commission, recently attended the Conference of Commissions Against Discrimination consisting of U. S. and Canadian commissions administering laws against discrimination.
The Conference considered joint and cooperative efforts between the agencies, compared notes on mutual problems. (Continued on Page Two)

Mr. Daniel G. Jacobowski, director of the City of St. Paul and indicated an increasing concern over discrimination in factors leading to employment, such as vocational education, training, and apprenticeship programs.
The St. Paul FEPC newsletter notes that joint educational efforts by local FEPC commissions are being planned by the staffs of the St. Paul, Minneapolis and Minnesota Commissions, the hope is to conduct educational conferences among integrated industries within the jurisdiction of all three Commissions.
Also that AFL-CIO President Meany supports Cleveland FEPC finding when he threatened an electrical workers union local with suspension unless it revoked its discriminatory membership policy after it was found in violation of Cleveland's FEPC law.
Michigan reports 272 cases thus far - of these, 90 were adjusted and 150 cases were dismissed for lack of jurisdiction or insufficient evidence to support a charge.
Wisconsin adopted an enforceable FEPC - its previous law had no enforcement provisions.
Colorado's Commission reports 14 cases last year with a 5-year total of 61.
New York's commission announced an agreement with major airlines whereby they will maintain non-discriminatory employment policies; however, the commission has scheduled a public hearing on a complaint alleging an airline refused to hire a Negro applicant as a stewardess.
The St. Paul Commission has its regular meetings on the 3rd Thursday in each month.
