ANCHORAGE, May 22, (Special to The Gateway) Leroy Crawford and Dell Trumbull, two local boys who set out a few weeks ago to make their fortunes in the Interior, are reported making their way down the crooked stretch of river between Medfra and McGrath on a raft. The boys left Anchorage by plane to Medfra, in search of work. Chances looked slim at Medfra, so they built a raft, with a house on it. They had almost completed the young ark, when two more men came along and Crawford, the business man, sold them stock in the venture. Last Tuesday the ship was about to sail when word was received at Medfra that three more men were on their way with Pilot Steve Mills. So they held up sailing for down-river points, in hopes that more stock could be sold. Pilot Mills said the party of four let go their lines as soon as they learned that the passengers he brought could not be sold. Bon voyage! Captain Crawford!
