Full Text

The school districts of this county are entirely too large and unwieldy to give best results. No school district should contain more area than is embraced in a township, and the larger and more populous townships should be divided into two or three school districts each. Now is a good time for this division, and we hope our efficient school commissioner will give the matter his attention. If the districts are small, the trustees will be nearer together, and can meet oftener and with less inconvenience and being more nearly and immediately interested in the welfare of the schools, they will give them closer attention. By all means let us have the county re-districted.

School Districts Re Districting Townships School Commissioner

Event Details

The school districts of this county are too large and unwieldy; no district should exceed a township's area, with larger townships divided into two or three districts. Now is a good time for division, and the school commissioner should attend to it. Smaller districts would allow trustees to meet more often and give closer attention to schools. The county should be re-districted.
