It has been ascertained that the name of the young woman who committed suicide at the American House, on Wednesday last was Fidelia Oliver. Her father lives a few miles north of Eden, in Delaware county. She left her home about a week before she came to Springfield. Her friends are expected here to-day, to remove her remains.

Since the above item was in type, we have conversed with A. J. Pittinger of Delaware County. He knew Miss Oliver from childhood. She bore from youth a character upon which no suspicion was cast until a few weeks ago. Her father's name is Samuel Oliver. Fidelia was seventeen years and two days old, the day she committed suicide. Mr Oliver has two daughters married. His home was desolate when Fidelia abandoned it. He charges her death upon C. L. Butts, and has threatened to shoot him.—Springfield Republican.
