Old Bill, a goat belonging to Edward Kiebler, a grocer, of Webster Groves, St. Louis County, Mo., partook of a $10 and a $5 bank note as part of his breakfast Wednesday, and as a result, the value of his life was compared with the bills. The bank notes won. A post-mortem examination of Bill's stomach made by Kiebler revealed small sections of the $10 bill, which have been carefully pasted together in the hope of having the money made good by the St. Louis subtreasury. Kiebler was feeding his delivery horse in the stable when he heard the sound of rattling silver dollars in the vicinity of where he had just placed his pocket-book. Looking around he was in time to see Bill devouring the $10 bill and the leather wallet. The goat did not attempt to masticate the silver. Bill's execution ensued.
