Full Text

A new thing.—Dr. Henry and Col. New, candidates for Congress in the 12th district of Kentucky, being both friendly to the present administration, and being fearful lest, by a division of their party, an opposition candidate might succeed, have entered into a written agreement, appointing a committee of ten, five chosen by each, to ascertain their relative strength, and pledging themselves that the one who shall be found weakest shall decline holding a poll. The votes of their friends are therefore, to be tried in each county on some day previous to the election, and votes are to be given, in order to ascertain their comparative strength. It is then understood that all the friends of both will unite in support of the strongest man, in order to defeat the common opponent. [Nat. Banner
