CONSTANTINOPLE, April 18.
THE people having begun to mutter at the excessive price to which coffee had been raised, the Grand Vizir, in order to get information of the reasons of such augmentation, disguised himself as a peasant, and repaired to one of the dealers in that commodity, and being convinced that four Jews purchased it by wholesale, to sell it by retail to whom they pleased (which is prohibited by the Mussulman's laws) he ordered them all to be arrested the next morning, and sentenced them to be publicly hanged, which was immediately done.
