TRIAL OF THE NEW BANK MACHINE.—A trial was made of Mr. Bradford's new Mud Carrier, which under unfavorable circumstances proved very successful. Five men and a horse operated the machine, and it removed and placed in position 1785 cubic feet of mud in five hours. The mud was moved about fifty feet. Seven men with wheelbarrows working against the machine removed 800 cubic feet of mud in the same number of hours. In repairing and raising higher old marsh banks the machine is a labor saver of much value, and would soon pay for itself on many farms along the Delaware river.
