Chicago, Oct. 27.-In the Scoville insanity case to-day Louis Scoville, son of the alleged demented, testified that he believed his mother was insane, because she persisted in the notion that she could write books and lecture successfully, and because she ran a boarding house when she was losing money. Mrs. Scoville Harper testified that her mother once told her that "Her physician, Dr. Ammerman, was the most lovable man that ever lived, and that he died for love of her." While this witness was under cross examination her husband, apparently under the influence of liquor, made a disturbance in court, saying he was there to protect his wife. He was fined $25 for contempt. This closed the evidence, and the attorneys made their arguments to the jury.
Chicago, Oct. 28.-Mrs. Scoville has not been found. An evening paper here states her attorney said privately this morning that Mrs. Scoville had friends who would run her off to Canada and support her there if she so desired it. The verdict says she has been insane about six months, and her insanity is hereditary. Her lawyer and son declare they know nothing of her whereabouts.
