The Constitution and Government of the United States—May it be a wall of fire round about, and the glory in the midst of us.
The American flag—May its Stars illuminate the friends and its Stripes lacerate the enemies of good order and government.
Massachusetts—May the chief pillar in its administration continue to be STRONG.
The hardy Yeomanry of New-England—May the fair tree of liberty, which their fathers planted, never be browsed by the black cattle of Virginia.
Morris and Bayard, who, with the little band of virtuous patriots, Leonidas like, defended the rampart of our Constitution against the host of assailants.
Charles C. Pinckney—"a column in the melancholy waste."
Timothy Pickering.—"Nor numbers nor example, hath him wrought, to swerve from truth, or change his constant mind."
