BROWNING, GLACIER COUNTY, MONTANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 1941.
"All-Out Aid" To Build Up Browning Favored
Ed McDougall, newly elected Mayor and Hanneman, Swank, Burnison and MacRae, new aldermen, are laying the foundation for a bigger and better Browning as soon as they take over the reins of government. Their plans include improvement of the streets with grading and gravelling and filling in of low spots all over town, a better lighting system on the streets with additional lights on all intersections, improved sewage and water systems, and above all, the cleaning up of alleys and backyards so that the town will present a more neat appearance to the many tourists that will be here this year.
Browning will be host this year to many prominent groups, so let's get busy and clean up the town. Here are some of the events—Ski Tournament—Logan Pass, June 8; Big Indian Medicine Lodge, July 1 to 8; Blackfeet Stampede, July 5, 6; Dedication of Museum, July 4; District Convention for Lions, June 19, 20, 21.
Don't you citizens think we should all cooperate and put the town of Browning out in the limelight so that we will make a pleasing impression on our visitors?
And now comes Mayor W. G. Renshaw with a proclamation on a two weeks Cleanup Campaign starting, May 1st to May 15th. So get your overalls on and clean up your yards and the alleys and the news will be published regarding the disposal of the rubbish in the next week's issue. Let's get together Browningites and put the old town on the map.
