WITHOUT A FRIEND

Evangelist Speaks of Miss Hattie Lamb's Fellow-Man Unsuccessfully Tries to Separate Frances Willard's Last Words.

Miss Hattie Lamb, of Hartford, who addressed a Salvation Army meeting the other night, is the assistant on the staff of her brother, who is Brigadier Lamb, and who is engaged in administering the business of the army in Connecticut, New York and contiguous states. She and Frances Willard were acquainted with one another. "Frances Willard," said she, as her memory swept over the heroes in the Christian life, "I never think of home unless I think of Frances Willard. You know we used to live in the same town-Evanston, Ill. Hers was such a loving, sweet character. She was very fond of her mother, and when her mother died she felt that she could not live without her. 'Mother has gone to Jesus,' she said when she was dying. 'I just want to creep in with her. Just tuck me in with mother, please.'"
